Noela Lotti ( born in Pisa, 1994) graduated from the Artistic High School in Lucca and is currently continuing her studies at Carrara's Academy of Fine Arts. At the beginning of her artistic formation she focused on traditional sculpture techniques, working with various materials and manifesting a particular interest in ceramics. Her work is the result of extensive research in the artistic field, and is evidence of her strong bond with the territory and the importance of this bond for the construction of ‘Being’. In her most recent works she relates printmaking to the processual artistic practices which characterized the second half of the twentieth century. The process of creating the image becomes as important as the work itself. She uses her own body to bring out collective memories closely linked to the territory to which she belongs. These memories become a source of knowledge and forma metaphysical map in a context in which space is unconsciously made for the ‘non-place’.
